Shocking images show Robert Field, 66, with severe facial wounds after he was mowed down by a car. The grandad-of-five was crossing the road early one evening when he was struck by a small dark blue car in a lane in Northfield, Birmingham.
The vehicle sped away from the scene leaving Mr Field stricken in the road as members of the public rushed to his aid. Mr Field was taken to hospital where he remains after suffering life-changing injuries sustained in the 7pm, February 22 collision.
