The family of a beloved gran, who was killed in a horrific head-on collision, have spoken of the ‘big void’ her death has left.

Doris ‘Dot’ Bridgehouse, 82, died after an ‘idiotic’ driver smashed into her, whilst doing 118mph in a 30mph zone. Audi Driver, Trent Simm, was jailed last week for seven years and four months, after causing Dot’s death by dangerous driving.

Dot’s daughter, Amanda Holmes, 56, and her grandson Max, 22, were also seriously injured in the crash in Littleborough, Rochdale in May of last year, the Manchester Evening News reports.

Amanda, who was in the front passenger seat, spent more than a month in hospital fighting for her life. She suffered a brain injury, a broken wrist and broken ribs, as well as damage to her pelvis.
