The grandmother of a 'lovely' 12-year-old boy who died as he tried to cross the M62 has paid a heartbreaking tribute to him.
Callum Rycroft, whose family say had autism, died after a 'hit and run' crash on the motorway in West Yorkshire on Saturday night.
West Yorkshire Police (WYP) say he had been trying to cross from the central reservation to the hard shoulder when he was hit by a car on the eastbound carriageway near Cleckheaton shortly before 10pm.
The vehicle failed to stop. Police say a boy had previously been walking on the motorway with a man after an earlier crash involving an Audi Q5 on the slip road to Hartshead Services.
