A family-of-10 has been left heartbroken after a horror blaze ripped through their home just one day before they were due to move in.
Parents Hester and Nathan Hadfield had been staying a property where six of members of the family were forced to sleep in the same room before they were able to secure a larger council house in South Reddish, Stockport.
After spending weeks renovating the four-bedroom property, a fire tore through the home on July 5 while they were out at a concert.
Mum Hester, whose eight children are aged between one and 17, described the damage as "heart-wrenching".Speaking to Manchester Evening News, she said: “We spent eight weeks - day and night - doing up the house and making it right for us.
