Facebook, Instagram and Messenger down: Apps crash for users across UK and Europe

According to Down Detector, the issues started at around 9am, and are affecting users across the UK and Europe, with western Europe appearing to be most affected.
While the reason for the issues remains unclear, of those who reported problems, 80% said they weren't receiving messages, while 20% couldn't log-in.
A Facebook company spokesperson told The Mirror: “We are aware that some people are having trouble sending messages on Messenger, Instagram and Workplace Chat.
