Pensioners across the UK are growing increasingly concerned over their upcoming winter bills. It comes after an Age UK petition to save Winter Fuel Payments for struggling pensioners gathered almost 250,000 signatures.
The charity expressed strong opposition to cuts to the payments recently announced by the government. It further warned that Labour will 'potentially jeopardise the health and finance of millions of older people this winter." Only those receiving Pension Credit or another means-tested benefit will be eligible for the payments worth up to £300 during the winter period.
