We all know how important it is to remove limescale in things like the kettle and on showerheads. But one place we often neglect is in our washing machines, and it can actually cause big problems if left untreated.
Limescale build up can not only cause the heating element in your washer to fail, but it can also create issues in the drum, pipes and hoses.
While limescale isn't hazardous, it can significantly reduce the efficiency and life span of your machine and be costly to fix or replace.
A study conducted by appliance brand AEG found that one in ten Brits didn't know washing machines could be affected by limescale, whilst almost half of Brits admitted to never de-scaling their machines, as the Mirror reports.
