The upcoming historical theme park, Kynren - The Storied Lands, is tipped to turn County Durham into one of Britain's top destination s.
Touted as a "spectacular" daytime attraction nestled within the broader Kynren park in Bishop Auckland, visitors will be led through epic narratives spanning history, myth and legend via live-action performances when it opens in 2026.
In its first phase, the park will unveil five "monumental" shows along with immersive experiences amidst a backdrop of historic landscapes; future phases promise even more enthralling draws.
Patrons stepping into the park will initially travel back to Neolithic Britain, among the nation’s earliest settlers. Delving deeper, they'll be thrust into a Viking tableau complete with fierce warriors clashing in an electrifying showcase of life in the Norse era. 'The Legend of the Wear' sees a colossal lake transformed into the stage for aquatic stunts, weaving the famous Lambton Worm myth. 'The Lost Feather', envisioned on a bird’s nest stage, invites audiences to uncover the splendour, might and delicate existence of birds from across the globe.
