Scotland and the rest of the UK could be in for a blast of heavy snow, with a weather forecaster warning that a 'Beast from the East' event may bring "chaos." Back in 2018, Britain was hit by freezing air and heavy snowfall from the east, prompting the Met Office to issue a rare red weather alert. While it's unclear whether conditions will be as severe this time, one forecaster has identified a seven-day window when the country is set for a "very snowy period." In a TikTok post, James Madden of Exacta Weather suggests the Beast from the East is "waking" and warns that heavy snowfall could bring "chaos for commuters", Scottish Daily Express reportsHe has pinpointed February 8 to February 15 as the period when heavy snow is expected to hit.
He noted that while snow showers are already in the forecast for the coming week, the real impact will come "before an easterly influence and widespread snow showers for most."Get the latest news sent straight to your messages by joining our WhatsApp community today. You'll receive daily updates on breaking news as well as the top headlines across Scotland. No one will be able to see who is signed up and no one can send messages except the Daily Record team. All you have to do is click here if you're on mobile, select 'Join Community' and you're in!If you're on a desktop, simply scan the QR code above with your phone and click 'Join Community'.We also treat our community members to special offers, promotions, and adverts from us and our partners.
