Craig Brown has revealed he has had life-saving surgery after suffering an aneurysm. The 80-year-old football legend was rushed to hospital in an ambulance after he fell seriously ill last year.
He suffered a rupture in the aorta, the body's largest artery, which carries blood from the heart to the brain, limbs and vital organs.
Brown was given just a 30 per cent chance of survival and had to have an operation to repair the damaged blood vessel in his abdomen.However the ex-Aberdeen and Motherwell boss, who is the national team's longest serving manager, has now made a full recovery six months after going under the knife.Speaking on BBC Radio Scotland's Off The Ball programme, he said: "I had an aneurysm, AAA is the medical term for this.
