Ex-Police Scotland officer guilty of 'appalling abuse' against Lanarkshire women

An ex-Police Scotland officer has been found guilty of 'appalling abuse' against several Lanarkshire womenFormer cop Christopher Ferguson was today convicted at Hamilton Sheriff Court for a series of abusive and violent offences.Following a complaint against the 31-year-old, an investigation was launched and officers took proactive steps to identify and approach further potential victims.

Ferguson was arrested and charged in 2021 and suspended immediately.He is due to be sentenced on Thursday, 11 July, 2024.Assistant Chief Constable Stuart Houston said: “My thoughts are with those who survived the appalling abuse by Christopher Ferguson and I hope this conviction provides them with some measure of closure.
