Pogba is free to return to professional football in March after serving a ban after testing positive for the banned substance DHEA.
He was initially handed a four-year ban, but that was reduced on appeal. Since the end of his ban was in sight, Pogba has been linked with several new clubs, including a host of Premier League teams and Marseille.
The French club, managed by Roberto de Zerbi, signed Greenwood from United in the summer after it became clear that the Reds wanted to cut ties with their academy graduate.
