Former Manchester City prospect Daniel Warrender fought back tears when discussing his time in prison and being stabbed twice.
The 38-year-old came through the academy of the Premier League giants and signed a professional deal in 2005 but left just a year later to join Blackpool without making a senior appearance.
Warrender found himself in non-league football for the next few years of his career, but his life off the pitch would have the biggest impact on him.
