Airdrie midfielder Justin Devenny hopes to grab the goals that fire his side to a win over Montrose tomorrow, and rocket the Diamonds back up the League One table. The 19-year-old, signed from Kilmarnock in August, started the season in a rich vein of form, netting in the first three games, but hasn't scored since the Premier Sports Cup group stages on July 19.With five defeats and a draw in their last six games, including in the SPFL Trust Trophy, Airdrie have slumped down to eighth in the table, and Devenny wants to change that as the Gable Endies visit New Broomfield. He told the club's website: "I started really well and lately I've hit a bit of a dry spell, which isn't good."For me, I just want to keep contributing towards the team and hopefully getting more goals, which will obviously hopefully lead to wins - at the end of the day that's the most important thing."I hope this is the week!

As I've said, I've hit a bit of a dry spell. I'm not going to be selfish, but at the same time I really want to go and show what I can do."Montrose have a slight upper hand in recent games and beat Airdrie 4-2 in a rearranged clash at the start of the month, with Devenny hoping they can redress that balance."Hopefully this is the game to put a stamp down," he said. "We started the season well, but this is hopefully the turning point where we go and show what we can really do, and then try to win week in, week out."We all believe in each other, we know that we're more than capable of going and doing well in the league."We all just need to pick up that momentum.

All it takes is one win to flip that switch, to get us into winning ways. We need to just keep that mentality."Follow Lanarkshire Live Sport onTwitter via@LanLiveSport, like us
