A former spy has shared the basic method of using just three simple things to form a "trusting" connection with a complete stranger.
But it has a "twisted" side, too. Neuroscientist Mayim Bialik, known for her infamous role as Amy Farrah-Fowler in American sitcom The Big Bang Theory, spoke with ex-CIA spy Andrew Bustamante on her podcast.
He outlined one technique that spies use day-to-day to establish quick connections. He said: "There's a rule of thumb that the CIA teaches us - you are either in control or under control.
There is no other option. Every day you have to choose whether to take control or not to take control and understand that, if you choose not to [take control], you're giving control to someone else."If you want to be persuasive, first you need to understand that people don't care about your point of view.
