Former Celtic star Anthony Stokes has been charged in connection with a 'dangerous driving' incident in which cops say a quantity of drugs were found in a car.
The footballer, 34, was said to be pulled over following the alleged incident in Crumlin in Dublin in the early hours of Friday morning.
As reported by the Irish Mirror, officers believed the vehicle was driving dangerously and, after bringing it to a controlled stop, discovered Stokes in the driver’s seat.Another man, who is in his 30s, was also in the vehicle.
Both men were arrested and detained overnight. During the course of a search of the vehicle officers discovered a quantity of suspected drugs - estimated to be worth around €4,500.Both men were questioned in Crumlin Garda Station before they were charged in connection with the dangerous driving incident.
