Has the time for 1989 (Taylor's Version) finally arrived? Last week, without any prior announcement or teasing, Taylor surprise-released This Love (Taylor's Version) - the biggest hint yet that the re-recording of her blockbuster fifth studio album (the one that turned Taylor Swift into...well...TAYLOR SWIFT not just a singer, not just a songwriter but a full-blown superstar pop star brand) is creeping closer and closer on the horizon.
But let's just back up for a second. Taylor has so far released two re-recorded versions of her first six albums - Fearless (Taylor's Version) and Red (Taylor's Version), both of which debuted at Number 1 on the Official Singles Chart.
In fact, with Red (Taylor's Version) debuting at Number 1, Taylor gained her 8th (!) consecutive UK chart-topping album, as well as now matching Kylie Minogue for female solo artists with eight Official UK Number 1 albums - the only female artist to have more is Madonna with 12.
Taylor is also the first and only female artist to have eight UK Number 1 albums this century. This means that expectations are sky-high for the rest of her re-recordings.
