All residents in Jersey are to be handed £100 in cash to help rebuild the ailing economy and support struggling businesses. Locals will be handed a £100 each to spend on the high street - including at bars, restaurants, pubs, cafés and major chains.
The move echoes a £500 voucher scheme that was under consideration in the UK at the height of the pandemic - but later ruled out by Chancellor Rishi Sunak during his July mini-Budget.
Under the scheme, all residents in Jersey will be handed a £100 MasterCard, loaded with cash to spend on anything from a hair cut to a personal training session.
