These are all the words the judge said as Lucy Letby, the nurse who murdered babies on the neonatal unit where she worked, was sentenced today (Monday) at Manchester Crown Court.

The 33-year-old was convicted on Friday of the murder of seven babies and the attempted murder of six more during her shifts at the Countess of Chester Hospital between 2015 and 2016.

She is now deemed to be the most prolific baby killer in modern history. Prosecutors said Letby was a 'calculated opportunist' who used the vulnerabilities of premature and sick infants to camouflage her acts.
