The seven cities shortlisted to possibly host the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 in the UK have been revealed. After it was announced that the UK will play host to the contest following Ukraine's win with Kalush Orchestra in Turin, Italy earlier this year.
The shortlist of possible host cities was revealed by Scott Mills live on BBC Radio 2's Zoe Ball Breakfast Show this morning, with the BBC explaining each of the candidates boast 'the capacity, capability and experience to host an event of this scale and complexity.' The seven cities shortlisted to host next year are: Birmingham Glasgow Leeds Liverpool Manchester Newcastle Sheffield This comes after Sam Ryder placed as runner-up for the United Kingdom in this year's contest with his Number 2-peaking single SPACE MAN.
The song even became the highest-charting Eurovision entry in the UK since Gina G's Ooh Aah...Just A Little Bit 26 years go.
