Eugene Daniels To Take Full-Time Role At MSNBC

Eugene Daniels confirmed this morning that he will be departing Politico to take a full-time role as MSNBC‘s senior Washington correspondent.

The announcement was made on Morning Joe this morning. Daniels also will be a co-host of The Weekend along with Jonathan Capehart, as the current hosts Symone Sanders-Townsend, Alicia Menendez and Michael Steele move to the 7 p.m.

primetime slot. Another host of the morning edition of The Weekend is expected to be named. Daniels first joined MSNBC as a contributor in 2021.

He joined Politico in 2018, after serving as a political reporter for Newsy. He is MSNBC’s first correspondent hire as it prepares to build out a D.C.
