Former Feyenoord and Genk manager Mario Been believes it would be wise for Erik ten Hag to show Cristiano Ronaldo the exit door if he is appointed as Manchester United's new manager.
As reported by the Manchester Evening News on Wednesday evening, Ajax bosses expect Ten Hag to leave the club and take charge at Old Trafford ahead of the start of next season.
The Dutchman was interviewed just over a fortnight ago and has been considered as the favourite for the job ever since. The 52-year-old has faced competition from Paris Saint-Germain head coach Mauricio Pochettino but is expected to beat him to the role.
If installed as United's new manager, he will be tasked with overseeing one of the biggest rebuilding jobs the club has been the subject of in recent years.
