Key figures in the boardroom are yet to finalise their decision, but the Eredivisie giants expect Ten Hag to succeed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on a permanent basis.
United last got their hands on silverware when Jose Mourinho led them to a League Cup and Europa League double in 2017. Manchester Evening News revealed three weeks ago that Ten Hag was a preferred candidate for the role with his main competition coming from Mauricio Pochettino.
