Eric Carle, the author and illustrator of the iconic children's book The Very Hungry Caterpillar, has died at the age of 91.
His death was confirmed on his official website after he passed away on May 23. The cause of death is currently unknown. Carle is the author of many other children's book classics such as Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?, The Grouchy Ladybug and The Very Busy Spider.
