Entrance to Ayrshire Asda supermarket under water as heavy flooding hits region

The entrance to and Ayrshire Asda supermarket was under water following heavy rain earlier today.The road leading to the Kilmarnock superstore was completely flooded this afternoon.A video from the scene on Queen's Drive shows a determined Asda lorry making it through the river, creating huge waves in the process.

A car can also be seen lying abandoned at the entrance of the supermarket.This particular road is a flooding hotspot in the town with large portions of Queen's Drive badly affected by flooding earlier today.The A77 at Bellfield Interchange has been closed in both directions for the majority of today after flooding hit the area.

The road remains closed now.Part of Kilmarnock town centre was shut down earlier this evening as police assisted the council with flooding and a burst water main.For the latest news and breaking news visit our website.
