England Rugby World Cup winner Steve Thompson has revealed that he has been diagnosed with early onset dementia - at the age of 42.
Thompson played in every England match as Clive Woodward’s men won the 2003 World Cup. He was named as one of the three best players in the world that year, and awarded an MBE at Buckingham Palace.
But Thompson, capped 73 times by his country, has admitted: "I can't remember any of those games. It's frightening."
