In the aftermath of the devastating attack on a children's event in Southport, a tight-knit community has been shaken to its core.
Residents young and old gathered to pay their respects at the scene on Hart Street yesterday evening (July 29). Amid the tributes was a child's pink unicorn placed among the bouquets - a heart-rending symbol of the innocence affected by such brutality.
Emotions ran high amongst the locals who spoke with journalists, still reeling from the shock that such violence had taken place in their tranquil town.
