The year feels like it’s barely begun but there’s plenty of action on the cards for the residents of Emmerdale - and even a sprinkling of wedding bells.
Changes are afoot at the ITV soap with producer Kate Brooks having switched sides to join Coronation Street as its new producer following Iain MacLeod’s promotion to oversee both long-running shows as Executive Producer for Continuing Drama.
But that’s not slowed things down over in the fictional Yorkshire village and producer Laura Shaw has teased several upcoming storylines - including a new arrival, a baby’s heartbreaking diagnosis and there’s ’medical jeopardy’ that impacts two families. Christine will be playing the character of Rose, who is known to Kim Tate’s husband, Will, played by Dean Andrews. Bolshy and boisterous, Rose has recently been living in Benidorm and her arrival is sure to cause a stir when Will fails to mention her to Kim, played by Claire King.
