Emmerdale star 'quits soap after a year' and prepares to film exit scenes

Emmerdale 's Karene Peter is thought to be leaving the soap, after playing the role of Naomi Walters for just one year. The 31 year old actress who plays the 22 year old character is said to be in the midst of filming her final scenes after deciding to leave the role.

Karene joined the action on in the Dales in summer last year, when she entered the soap as Vicar Charles Anderson’s long-lost daughter Naomi Walters.

Her character Naomi has had her fair share of drama, having been unmasked as one of Nicola King’s attackers and involved in a drugs storyline where soap villain Alex was caught with drugs by Naomi's father, Charles.

Naomi also recently split with farmer Nate Robinson, and has been spending more time on connecting with the family. It's thought that actor Karene decided to leave the soap to pursue other opportunities and try out new acting roles.
