Emmerdale star Amy Walsh confirms ITV soap return after 18-month break
ok.co.ukAmy Walsh, known for her role as Tracy Metcalfe in Emmerdale, is set to make her return to the show as filming resumes. Previously, Amy took a break from the soap in January 2022 for her maternity leave, with Tracy leaving the village to pursue a new job opportunity, leaving Nate heartbroken.
While Amy briefly returned for the show's 50th anniversary in October of last year, she expressed that she wasn't ready for a permanent comeback at that time, as she had just welcomed her first child with Toby Alexander Smith.
In exciting news for fans of the soap, Amy is now back on set, although she admitted finding the return challenging. Sharing a snap of her with her daughter Bonnie, she wrote alongside it: "Morning snuggles before mama goes to work this morning.
For all the parents out there going back to work and leaving their babies... stay strong, we've got this." She later showed some photos of her Roxy Shahidi, who plays Leyla Cavanagh, doing some yoga in their lunch break, adding: "Throwing down on our lunch break just like the old days was the highlight of my day #yogabuddies #likenotimehaspassed." Going off the usual shoot-to-broadcast turnaround, fans can expect to see Walsh's character back on their screens within the next month.
