It started when Anthony and Steph showed up in the Dales last year to try and make amends with Ruby after Anthony was diagnosed with cancer.
Ruby was visibly uncomfortable with her estranged father's arrival, and it wasn't until flashbacks aired that viewers learned of Anthony's repeated sexual abuse towards Ruby as a teenager.
Things got worse when Chas encouraged Ruby to get a DNA test for Steph, but it was Caleb who found the results and realised he was not the biological father of Steph - Anthony was.
