At present, Sam Dingle (James Hooton) is the head of the household - but a significant soap plot twist could alter everything.
Recently in the Dales, the Dingle patriarch Zak (Steve Halliwell) tragically passed away off-screen. In reality, Steve died in December last year at the age of 77, and Zak's funeral was held earlier this month.
