Emmerdale fans have been beside themselves watching Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) trying to recover since sadly suffering a stroke.
But his partner Rhona Goskirk, played by Zoe Henry, has been there every step of the way. However, next week, just as Marlon’s health seems to be getting better, things take a turn for the worse.
When Rhona chooses to return to work, Marlon develops a concerning cough back at home and he ends up back in hospital. He’s later diagnosed with aspiration pneumonia and told it will set his recovery back.
Understandably, filming such heartbreaking scenes could take its toll, but Zoe insists that she and co-star husband Jeff Hordley, who stars as Cain Dingle, take everything in their stride together. “Jeff and I have become really good at just coming in the door and leaving everything back at the studios really,” Zoe explains. “You have to, otherwise it’s just exhausting, and we’ve got kids, dogs, the allotment and various things going on here that are more than a distraction.” Here, Zoe fills us in on her latest big storyline, the overwhelming response they’ve had – and why she never wants to drink out of the infamous Dingle welly!
