Emmerdale star Jeff Hordley has told how he avoids social media due to trolling. The actor is famed for playing Cain Dingle in the ITV soap, a role he has held since 2000.

Despite his popularity on screen, and the plenty of support he and his character receive online from those who follow the show, Jeff has insisted he doesn't want to "get dragged into that world" so he won't be signing up for Instagram or Facebook anytime soon.

He is quoted by the Daily Star newspaper's HOT TV column as saying: "I don't look at social media. I don't have Instagram and I don't have Facebook.
