Emmerdale's Jay Kontzle's touching tribute to grandparents who raised him after tragedy

Emmerdale star Jay Kontzle left fans heartbroken with his recent performance in the ITV soap as Billy Fletcher. During the latest episode (Thursday 28 April), Billy was left battered and bruised following a racially aggravated attack.

What fans might not know is that Jay has had to cope with his own fair share of tragedy, having lost his mum when he was just a baby.The soap star was subsequently raised by his grandparents, to whom he recently posted a touching tribute.

The adorable throwback snap of Jay and his granddad Michael was accompanied by an emotional caption that read: "Humble beginnings.
