Emmerdale viewers waved goodbye to fan-favourite character Amelia Spencer yesterday as she left the Dales for a new adventure away from the village.

Actress Daisy Campbell had starred on the soap since she was seven years old and admitted she found it “tough” to leave the job after 13 years.

Daisy confessed: “It’s been such a tough year and I've had to deal with so much, but I was so at peace when leaving because I've grieved - for myself and the character.

It was my first ever job, I’ve had it since I was seven, so it feels really sad. But I feel at peace now.” The 21 year old actress admitted one of the hardest parts of leaving the job was leaving behind her fellow cast members naming Eden Taylor-Draper (Belle Dingle), Rosie Bentham (Gabby Thomas), Katie Hill (Sarah Sugden) and Jack Downham (Noah Dingle).
