Emmerdale's 50th anniversary plans: when it airs and what viewers can expect
ok.co.ukEmmerdale is scheduled to celebrate its 50th anniversary this autumn and there's some huge storylines planned for the memorable episodes.
There's already been a few hints dropped while some plot twists have been confirmed by bosses at the hit ITV soap, which first landed on screens back in 1972.
Three iconic characters, Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller), Diane Sudgen (Elizabeth Estensen) and Tracy Metcalfe (Amy Walsh), will all be making a return to the show, just in time for a "massive storm" which will wreck havoc on the village.
It's also thought that at least one death could occur, as it has been confirmed that several characters will be left fighting for their lives in a series of harrowing scenes involving the soap's “most epic” stunts to date.
