Emmerdale fans noticed an awkward blunder on Friday's episode as the show appeared to forget the relationship between two of its characters.

Belle Dingle was being questioned by a police officer over the hit and run that left Moira Dingle for dead, as Jamie, who was driving the car, is trying to shift the blame.

He is attempting to convince the police that it was Belle and Nate Robinson who committed the crime, with Belle driving the car, and the police are unsure who to believe.

But as the police officer interrogated Belle, she asked her if Nate was her "cousin in need", and long-term fans of the show instantly noticed there was a problem.
