It soon became clear that they were much more than casual friends as it was explained that the two were best friends when they lived in a care home as teenagers.
They lost touch when Lydia became pregnant with Craig's child and ran away, changing her name so that she could not be found.
Lydia came clean about the death of their baby and finally told Craig that they had had a child together. But despite their past viewers became alarmed after Craig turned up unannounced at Lydia's home, after finding out her information from her CV.
