She wore this particular minidress at a media conference in LA, explaining that—together with stylist Rebecca Corbin-Murray—she chose it because of its incredible craftsmanship and the brand’s commitment to reducing its environmental impact.Emma Watson first wore the dress in 2017.As Emma Watson noted, the hand embroidery on the silk taffeta and the silk faille bow were both done in Taroni’s workshops in Italy, which specialize “in the highest quality couture fabrics” and “are committed to reducing [their] environmental impact, including investing in solar energy and… removing all toxic chemicals from [their] supply chain”.
The dress was then made in the Oscar de la Renta atelier in New York, with the panels cut and folded by hand. Even the zip on the dress was repurposed from an unused sample.It’s only fitting, then, that such a special dress would be re-worn by Watson again and again.
