Chelsea boss Emma Hayes says she is hopeful she can celebrate her team's Women's Super League (WSL) title triumph over a glass of wine with Sir Alex Ferguson.
The former Manchester United man was in attendance at Old Trafford as the Blues romped to a 6-0 victory over Marc Skinner's side, pipping Manchester City to the title on goal difference.
Though it was a difficult afternoon for United, it was heartening to see Ferguson's show of support for the women's team less than a week on from Sir Jim Ratcliffe's controversial absence at Wembley.
And Hayes admitted she was looking forward to catching up with the legendary Reds boss after the match. Speaking to Sky Sports, she said: "To finish here at Old Trafford, I hope to get a glass of wine with Sir Alex in a minute.
