metro.co.ukEmbarrassing Bodies star Dr Christian Jessen has branded Italy’s coronavirus lockdown and ‘excuse to have a long siesta’. The 43-year-old phoned into FUBAR Radio’s Access All Areas, where he spoke about the current pandemic.
And while confessing that he agrees with Boris Johnson’s decisions to delay closing schools, the Channel 4 star took aim at Italy. ‘This might be a little bit racist to say this, but you’ll have to make apologies, but do you not think it’s a bit of an excuse?’ he quizzed. ‘The Italians, any old excuse to, you know, shut down everything and stop work for a bit and have a long siesta!’ The whole of Italy has been put on lockdown following the outbreak, which has killed 1,000 people in the European country.
