Elton John is celebrating 30 years of sobriety. The music icon, 73, took to social media on Wednesday evening to share a special message to his fans as he reflected on reaching the impressive milestone and admitted that ditching booze and drugs meant that he is alive today.
In an honest and heartfelt Instagram post, the hitmaker thanked Alcoholics Anonymous for helping him on his journey to a clean life as well as his husband David Furnish and their sons Zachary, nine, and seven-year-old Elijah.
He told how he was "blessed" to be surrounded by good people and thanked everyone who "supported" him getting on the straight and narrow.
