mirror.co.ukElton John has hit back at his ex-wife Renate Blauel after she opened up about her suicide attempt on their honeymoon. The Tiny Dancer singer, 73, says Renate is just after his money and wants to "tarnish his name publicly".
Renate, who was married to Elton between 1984 and 1988, said she tried to take her own life after he told her their marriage wasn't working only three days into their St Tropez honeymoon.
The German recording engineer claims she was rushed to hospital to have her stomach pumped and alleges that Sir Elton did not even visit her during her stay before having her driven straight to the airport with her luggage from the hospital door.
