Sir Elton Hercules John CH CBE (born Reginald Kenneth Dwight; 25 March 1947) is an English singer, songwriter, pianist, and composer. He has worked with lyricist Bernie Taupin since 1967; they have collaborated on more than 30 albums. John has sold more than 300 million records, making him one of the world's best-selling music artists. He has more than fifty Top 40 hits, as well as seven consecutive number-one albums in the United States, 58 Billboard Top 40 singles, 27 Top 10 singles, four of which peaked at number two and nine of which reached number one. Elton John is opening up about his musical Tammy Faye, that did not last very long on Broadway.

The 78-year-old musician wrote the music for the show, which first opened in London in 2022 before moving to Broadway for the 2024-2025 season.

However, after a month of previews, the musical opened on November 14th and a few days later, it was announced it would close on December 8th due to poor ticket sales and negative reviews.

The show only played 24 previews and 29 regular performances. In a new interview, Elton shared his thoughts on the show flopping and why he thinks it did.
