Elon Musk is making a bid to buy social media giant Twitter. The billionaire owner of Tesla said he has lined up $46.5 billion in financing to buy the platform and negotiations between the two parties are understood to be underway.
With an estimated fortune of around $265 billion, Mr Musk is the world's wealthiest man, according to Forbes. He is also a prolific tweeter and has more than 83 million followers on the platform.
The New York Times reported that negotiations went on until the early hours of Monday morning, and a deal could be struck as soon as today (April 25).
Details being hammered out include a timeline for the sale and fees if an agreement was to be signed but then fell apart, according to unnamed sources.
