Ellen DeGeneres has spoken about the 'awful' accident that happened in her home which left one of her dogs "screaming in pain".

The 62-year-old talk show host has four dogs and she revealed on Tuesday's edition of The Ellen DeGeneres Show how her dog Kid suffered a broken leg.

She said that a collision with her poodle, named Wally, had a catastrophic effect on Kid, who now has his leg in plaster following the accident.

Speaking to her viewers, Ellen said at the beginning of her show: "Okay, so here's the deal. We have pets. You know we have pets.
