James Guy, who was born in Bury and went to school in Timperley, in a gripping final of the inaugural mixed 4×100 metres medley relay.
He swam an incredible butterfly leg after Kathleen Dawson and Adam Peaty had completed the freestyle and breaststroke legs respectively to put Team GB into first place, before Kathleen Dawson brought it home in a world record time for the quartet.
