An urban explorer has shared incredible snaps from inside a home that has been left to rot for almost two decades. Kyle Urbex regularly documents his visits to abandoned properties across the UK.And last March, the 27-year-old photographer posted pics from his trip to Lanarkshire, where he had travelled to investigate a deserted house in the Crossford area of Carluke.Kyle made the trip to the home - dubbed Mr Gilmour's, after the previous tenant - in June 2021 and was stunned by what he found in the once-modern home, which had become eerie and overgrown in the years since it was occupied.Thomas Gilmour left the house in 2007, though it is not known why he moved or to whom the property now belongs.
But Kyle's investigation found that locals described him as a proud man who enjoyed renovating the house and maintaining the garden. If anyone were wishing to restore the property to its former glory now, however, it would take a huge amount of work.
In Kyle's photos, plants can be seen sprouting through the floor and the garden has become a jungle with overgrown greenery.A forgotten shopping trolley sits outside and part of the roof appears to have caved in.
Dishes have been left in the kitchen cupboards with other items on the shelves throughout.Ceilings and walls are falling apart with a pipe seen hanging down in one room.
