Edinburgh has been named the best place to live in the UK, according to a new survey. The capital was named top of the table after residents across the country were asked to name the UK's best places to live.

The research by resident review site Homeviews, asked over 36,000 people from across the UK to review the places they lived and used the data to reveal the top locations across the UK and Edinburgh, along with Aberdeen, were named in the top 5.

Speaking about the research, co-founder and CEO of Homeviews, Rory Cramer, said: "Uncertainty about remote or office work, along with global unrest, the cost of living crisis and even climate change have all served to heighten the importance of choosing the right place to buy, rent or build."Here at HomeViews we’ve now expanded the reach of our verified resident reviews to cover the UK – over 36,000 in total.
